???

I don't know what's up with me. I've been uninspired to post about, well, anything. In brief...LOST is moving along. I like it even though others don't. Got awesome Valentine's Day tickets to RENT. I have the best husband ever. Ed Ved announced a limited engagement solo tour in Cali. I don't think I have any chance of getting tickets, although I'll definitely try. Movies suck right now. Oh, joy, they're making another spoof film called "Super Hero Movie." And I just can't get up the strength to see the 2 hour 40 minute epic "There Will Be Blood," even though I should before the big show. Speaking of...I have no idea who my Oscars picks will be next week, and I have NOTHING to wear on the red carpet [of my mind]. Oh, WHAT is a girl to do!?! Maybe I'll just go read more Dark Tower or watch more Doctor...what I'm saying is this, when in doubt NERD OUT.

Every Year

Every year I tell myself I'm not gonna watch the SuperBowl. Every year I promise myself that it doesn't matter, it's just another grudge match, and I have more important things to do. Of course these promises were null and void last year with da Bears in the big game, but this week, I've been making myself the same promises...until yesterday.

I started looking for a place to watch the game. I started thinking of fun recipes I could make for the big event. I even started brainstorming reasons I should put off my grading until tomorrow to sit back and watch the really big show tonight.

Well, I'm ready to go. I've been preparing treats since I got home from church. I'm rockin' my Bears XLI hoodie from last year (suck on that Mr. GQ*). At the end of the night I'll try to figure out why I wasted my time and be mad I don't have my grading done, but I'll go through the same song & dance next year.

*For those of you not in the know, that would be Mr. Tom Brady, the Patriots QB, and GQ's favorite sports cover boy of late. You should see him in a post-game press conference: hair perfectly parted, Armani suit perfectly pressed, and stubble perfectly trimmed. Wonder who he'll be wearing
tonight after his big win?

What Would You Do to Matt Damon?

After watching this, you'll know what Princess Sarah (Silverman) is doing. Make sure the kiddies are out of the room for this one, and I want to know what you think about Matty's dance moves. I already knew he was the coolest, but after this, he may be a god in my country.

Oh, Paula

I think I'm having a heart attack right now. I'm watching my favorite southern chef, Pauler Deen, making her cheeseburger meatloaf. She's used an entire block of sharp cheddar, a load of bacon (10 SLICES!), and a pound of ground beef. Plus, she just put onion rings on top. Holy cow, y'all! She did put the loaf on a couple of pieces of thick-cut white bread to soak up the fat as it bakes in the oven, so we can eat it with no guilt then??? And the parsley garnish totally makes it healthier, too. I think I'm having heart palpitations just by watching. I better get myself into the car and head to the hospital. If I didn't care at all about my health, friends and family, or living past 35, I would probably try this devilish recipe.

Oh, and why am I watching this in the middle of a Friday? Because school was cancelled! I still love snow days...but who am I going to get to shovel my drive way?

New New Kids News

I can't even count how many people have come to me and said that NKOTB are not getting back together. Numerous websites also say this when I google them. Well, for those of you who don't read the comments that pop up on my posts, go back to nkotb.com. There is a new song waiting for you, and a message that infers the reunion is on its way. (Like the use of the word "infer?" Yeah, I'm a 6th grade language arts teacher. What up?) Joey and Jordan sound as sweet as ever. Go check it out--NOW!

P.S. That might be my favorite post title ever.
P.P.S. Don't forget to check out Jawdan's rat tail and Joey Joe's topless hat in this classic photo.

Me Likey

ABC's new drama/comedy/law show, Eli Stone, was lovely! It stars our old friend, Jonny Lee Miller. I think Jonny Lee's found his niche: he's disarmingly sweet, genuine, and funny when playing a character that can hear pop music from an inoperable brain aneurysym (help me with that spelling, cause I'm too lazy to get my dictionary out right now). Loretta Devine is also wonderful as his sassy assistant.

I thought it was absolutely delightful, and the addition of George Michael didn't hurt either. The scene when Eli Stone was dancing along with Jorge's live performance of "Faith" was particularly funny. It's a quirky show, so which makes me automatically suspect of the general public not jumping onboard. It has a prime slot, right after LOST, so it will hold some people's attention for awhile, but I hope the dullards can see it for what it is--creative, fresh, comedy drama with awesome 80's songs. Or, early 90's, since "Freedom" will be present in the next episode. Who else will pop up I wonder? Annie Lennox? Kylie? Oh, that would be delicious fun!!! Check it out on abc.com or Thursdays at 10/9 on ABC.

And, YES, I did enjoy the LOST premiere. I don't care what any of you say. First of all, the season kicked off WITHOUT a Jack flashFORWARD, Hurley was our focus, and it had a scary new guy in it. He reminded me of Buffy's Gentlemen without the freaky grin and make-up. He was chilling.
