Tommy, Can Ya Hear Me?

Oh, Tommy. What's happened? Mention one little thing about believing in spacemen, and it's all downhill from there. I can understand the Toy Story gang beating you out: I mean EVERYBODY wants to see them, even in their second week. But Sandler? Sandler beat you? This wouldn't be so insulting if it wasn't for the fact that Rob Schneider and David Spade were in the same film. Be honest with your fan of old: that must've hurt. Maybe it was Cammy's fault. I mean, she's gettin' a little rough. And, what was up with Blucas' mustache? Only my brother consistently falls for a guy with a stache (and he's not even the gay).

I'm sure you'll get the old magic back again. As long as your have faith in your little green aliens, I'll have faith in you. Oh, and I'm still going to see your film, even if I do suffer public derision.

Sincerely,
Amanda @ BBB! HQ

New Who

I've been silent all these years...oh, um, I mean MONTHS (sorry, Tori)...on the subject of our new Doctor. OK, here comes the verdict:

He's pretty flipping brilliant.

So much more than I hoped, and I haven't even been too distracted by his oddly put together face. (Admittedly, maybe I just miss Tennant's, but Smith has kind of a weird visage*.) The stories are tight for the most part, although I was rather disappointed with the return of the weeping angels. (I think they were too iconic for a comeback, though. The Sally Sparrow episode was just too breathtaking for words, and Moffat should've never gone back.) The recently aired two-parter in the US, The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood, was excellent, and the premier episode was the best introduction of a new Doctor since the relaunch. All in all, I give it an 8/10.

Keep tuned in, America, cause the Doctor meets Vincent van Gogh this weekend, and as far as the UK goes, I think the finale has already aired. I hope the rest of the season doesn't diappoint!

*YES! I've finally used "visage" on my blog! Maybe I will just stop after this entry. Huzzah!

Questions with No Answers

Why is "Smallville" still on?
How can three seasons be so good and then each subsequent season continuously go downhill?
Why isn't Clark in glasses, with some tights and a cape in his office?
Why do I still have hope it'll get better?
10 YEARS!?! REALLY??? And he STILL can't fly?
