Serenity+Gunslinger (with a Dash of Sassy Iron Man)

Not since Serenity has the idea of cowboys and aliens felt so right. And, don't let the title fool you: this is going to be EH. PICK. I don't think I have enough words to describe how excited I am about this new film. Words aren't coming to me quickly enough, so let me just spill some out:
  • Harrison Ford as a cowboy.
  • Jonny Favreau directing.
  • Ronny Howard and Stevie Spielberg producing.
  • I like making their names childlike.
  • Except Harrison Ford is too much the man to do that to.
  • Oh, and Daniel Craig's in the mix, too.
  • I'm nerding out.
  • Ohgoshohgoshohgosh!!!
Click HERE for the trailer. Seriously...I don't usually wish the days away, but come on summer!
Oh, and P to the S, after seeing the trailer, I now want Harrison Ford to play Roland in the Dark Tower adaptation. A girl can dream...

NKOTB Catastrophe

I don't like it.
I don't like it.
I DON'T LIKE IT.

(OK, however, the picture on the front page of the website [above] is not terrible.) Oh, and they have their OWN website!?! Boston Boys, you DON'T NEED THEM! They rode your coattails to millions. Don't ride their's to more comeback millions. Your reunion tour was IN-CREDIBLE! You did an amazing comeback album, so I'll say it again (for the fourth time): YOU DON'T NEED THEM!

And, bee to the dubs, I know this has been news for weeks, but it's taken me a long time to finally commit to the words. My words, as you have read, are limited and not too flattering. Here's the awful truth, though: I still might try to get tickets (Friday, June 17, in Chicago). I have been ruminating on my NKOTB concert from April 2009, and I want to see them again. They were simply outstanding. (You can read about it in the archives.) Just the thought of them with the BSB leaves a sticky, horrible taste in my mouth.

HUB-bub, HUB-bub, HUB-bub

As if it wasn't grace enough that the Cooking Channel showed the Galloping Gourmet all summer, but now I have something to keep me warm and snuggly throughout the cold fall and winter months.

What would you do if I sang outta tune? Would you stand up and walk out on me? Sure you could think of these as the opening lines to a Beatles songs, but because of Kevin Arnold, Winnie Cooper, and Paul Pfeiffer, the only I think of when I hear those word are the opening 8 mm family video reels of the Wonder Years. HUB, an amazing channel fighting to keep some 80's pop culture alive, shows Wonder Years EVERY NIGHT, and re-runs the week's shows on the weekends. What would I do without Cori, who told me of this wonderful delight of a channel??? HUB also shows Doogie Howser, Family Ties, G.I. Joe, and Fraggle Rock. I'm telling you, contact your local cable operator NOW, and demand HUB (and the Cooking Channel, too, if you haven't yet).

Now if we could only get Growing Pains in the rotation, I'd never change the channel ever...if when my daughter gives me her big-eyed stares to turn on Wyatt and the Super Readers.

An Emo Supes?

New Superman graphic novel!
New Superman graphic novel!
NEW!
SUPERMAN!
GRAPHIC!
NOVEL!

It's out in time for my birthday, too! According to Yahoo!'s omg section, the new Supes is rather emo, lookin' a bit like Pattinson, and wearin' skinny ties and low ridin' trousers. Don't know if I feel good about that, but I'm rarin' to read! Superman: Earth One, a reimagining of Superman's origins, is available NOW.
