ohgod...uuhhhh....uggggg.....blaaaaaah
These are the sounds that fell out of my mouth when my co-worker, Miss Barbie, told me about the passing of Corey Haim. Ya'll have to understand my morning routine: roll outta bed, straight to shower, straight to car, turn on classical radio, head to work. There is no way I would've heard this news this morning except for her. As I type, I'm in the school's computer lab with 26 of the hardest working students I see all day. I honestly don't know what to say. He'd been going down a rough, rocky, druggie path for sometime, but you always hope your teen idols will pull themselves up out of the mucky muck. Not even Feldman could help his compatriot.
Cheers, Haimster. Thanks for all of the great fun...especially Dream a Little Dream ("messin' with Rambo's little brother"). Perhaps there will be a better eulogy later, but for now, I'm out of words.

You Gotta Be Here
*sigh* I'm missing the 'Lympics. I'm really missing the "You Gotta Be Here" commercial that ran every ad break. Yes, I had it memorized. (Well, MJF's parts anyway.) It's a great ad, and I totally want to go to British Columbia after viewing it (100 time)...even if Kim Cattrall might be there.
Let's face it: the good outweighs the Cattrall. You'd still be hangin' with MJF, lil Stevie Nash (Canada must grow 'em short), Will, and Ry Reynolds. That's some sweet company!
My New Favorite
Yes, yes, YES! I know he's been around for YEARS, but Stanley Tucci is my new favorite. I've recently read and seen The Lovely Bones and Julie & Julia. It's been a long time since I despised a character as much as Tucci's Mr. Harvey, and it's also been a long time since I've seen a man so openly smitten with his beloved as Tucci's Paul Child. The contrasts between these two characters are staggering: one a frightening, lonely man who steals youth, innocence, and breath from beautiful young women, full of life; the other a happy, content, proud man in complete and total love with his eccentric (in a good way) wife.
Aaaaand, why should he win this year's Oscar for Best Supporting Actor? Not just because he played ONE of these characters so perfectly, but because he played them BOTH so perfectly!
Too bad he's up against Christoph Waltz, who makes Mr. Harvey look like a prim and proper schoolgirl. Seriously! If the man can make eating streudel look scary, he should win an Oscar. Maybe next time, ole Tucci chap!

#600!!!
What up!?! Number 600!?!?!? I can't believe it! Um...what do I say? How do I proceed? Let's talk about a match made in Manna Heaven.
Could it GET any better? Well, probably, but for now I can't think of any other match to like better. They're shooting Wall Street 2 (nothing like a sequel 23 years later, right?), and they're just as pretty as can be all's growsed up. Will it last? Probably not. Are they Hollywood's IT couple? Yup, and I hope they at least have fun with it and not hurt each other.
