Twilight News
Elvis' birthday and the untimely passing of Todd Morgan pushed this posting to the back edges of my mind, but for those of you not in the know (and I know must of you who read this already are), Summit Entertainment has finally announced that Taylor Lautner will in fact be back as Jacob Black in the upcoming "Twilight" sequel "New Moon."
A lot of critics and fans think Lautner is too baby-faced and petite to play the part of wolfin' out Jacob, but I think he's a perfect fit. He's attractive and boyish enough for Bella to turn to him while Edward has abandoned her (especially when he doesn't have that horrid wig on), and hello, this is an adaptation. The magic of CGI will have him morphing into a huge werewolf with no problem. All the little girls out there have to realize that films will never follow the plot exactly. And, some of Meyer's characters are so much larger than life (Edward's beauty, Jacob's rapidly growing build) that we have to suspend our imaginations when in the local cineplex watching them come to life.
"New Moon" is slated to be released on November 20, 2009...another perfect birthday present for me. Let's just hope this rushed sequel doesn't lose any of the production value of the first installment.
