Graceland 2007

Don't really know where to start with this entry. Got back from Graceland last night at 12:30 a.m., and what a fantastic journey it was! Here's a quick run down of what went down:

• Arrived at EP Blvd. to sit on the wall at 9 a.m. It only got to 113 degrees (with the heat index).
• Drank my body weight in water to stay hydrated. It worked, cause I didn't get any heat sickness/stroke/exhaustion. Yeah me!
• Alternated time in the sun (under HUGE golf umbrellas) and in the air conditioned gift shops across the street from the mansion.
• Watched loads of mothers exploit their little children and older men exploit themselves. Mamas had their little babies and kids dressed up in Elvis costumes in the heat, and the sweaty impersonators hung around trying to get TV crews to interview them.
• 50,000 people attended the candlelight vigil, and it was still going at 8:30 a.m. yesterday morning, 12 HOURS after it started. (We were done by 9:30 p.m.)
• Saw Priscilla hanging out at Graceland's front doors with Larry King during the vigil, and we have pictures taken with Todd Morgan, head spokesperson for Elvis Presley Enterprises.
• Found out Elvis was the original King of Bling, as proven by the many bedazzled jumpsuits that have been put on display. Suck on that, Jay Z!
• Just missed Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He was going to broadcasting live from Graceland on QVC. So sorry I missed it.
